Coccolo bed – the shape of trust

Fabric double bed: ID LS/0109 Designer: Sergei Lvov

The Coccolo bed explores intimacy as a moment when the body no longer needs to hold itself: the possibility of leaning in, softening, and allowing someone else to carry its weight. In this simple gesture, trust emerges as a temporary release of autonomy, a willingness to loosen control and let another become a source of support.

The name Coccolo is related to the Italian accoccolarsi, meaning to curl up, nestle close, or settle comfortably beside someone. This state shapes the bed’s formal language: one soft volume loses its tension, yielding and resting against another, as though no longer required to sustain its form on its own. Physical deformation becomes a metaphor for a surrender rooted in trust, a rare state in which dependence is understood not as weakness, but as a natural consequence of intimacy.
