Cóvo Armchair – a den of creative freedom

Fabric armchair: ID LS/0111 Designer: Sergei Lvov

The Cóvo armchair explores the idea of personal space as a kind of creative den. Its enveloping form defines a territory of its own, becoming a tangible extension of one’s inner world. The name derives from the Italian covo, meaning “den”, and speaks to the need for a place of retreat, freedom, and self-identity. Rather than isolating its occupant from the surroundings, Cóvo creates a necessary distance: a state of quiet in which to listen inwardly, concentrate, or simply let the imagination move freely.

The artistic character of Cóvo emerges through the interplay of organic forms and a deliberately playful aesthetic. Large curved elements surround the sitter and merge into a single enveloping volume, while retaining their individual expression and sculptural presence. Exaggerated proportions, soft forms, and vivid colour accents draw on the visual freedom of Pop Art, turning the armchair into an object with a strong emotional character. Cóvo turns retreat into a space where stepping away from the outside world allows for inner freedom and creative impulse.
