Diffu armchair – when forms merge

The Diffu armchair explores an emotional approach to the sculptural language of the contemporary object. Its form emerges from the interaction of large, rounded volumes that seem drawn towards one another, coming together in an expressive silhouette. The elements touch, overlap and merge into one another, forming a unified sculptural composition. Soft cushions shape the architecture of the seat, backrest and armrests, while thick cylindrical legs extend their proportions, reinforcing the sense of monolithic solidity.

The name Diffu derives from the Italian diffusione – the process by which particles of one substance mix with another to form a unified medium. This idea becomes a metaphor for the project: rounded volumes move closer together, the boundaries between them become less distinct, and the individual elements gradually begin to read as a single, fluid form.
