Ibrio collection – the acrobatics of balance

The Ibrio Collection evokes the fluidity of movement suspended in mid-air, where technique and intuition, bodily agility and depth of thought merge into a single whole. Inspired by gymnastics apparatus, it embodies the pursuit of perfection, something unattainable yet always close. Its name derives from the Italian word equilibrio, meaning “balance”: a state in which the heart skips a beat, not from fear but in anticipation that the next movement will preserve equilibrium.

The straight lines of the sturdy frame, made of large-diameter tubing, evoke a sense of static order. They support a rounded backrest in the form of a resilient bolster that appears to compress toward the centre. The monolithic seat, with its smoothly rounded edges, completes the composition, lending it softness and harmony. At the junctions between the armrests and the backrest, the lines break unexpectedly, inviting the eye to complete the elusive movement. These interruptions reflect the object’s inner logic: perfection as a continuous pursuit rather than an endpoint.
