TUTTU Monteur – comfort at the right angle

The Monteur armchair continues the TUTTU series, created in 2019. It replaces the four original models: Savant, Lumberer, Farmer and Aviator. Interchangeable upholstered components made it possible to develop a family of modular armchairs and sofas with a shared, pared-back design. The armchair takes its name from a French word, evoking someone who thoughtfully removes the unnecessary to retain the essence. In the collection, this principle finds expression in clear forms and carefully considered details. Monteur is distinguished by the harmonious shapes of its seat and backrest, set on a common steel frame. A flowing line of piping traces the silhouette, emphasising its clean outline.

Particular attention has been given to the construction of the upholstery. The removable outer cover comprises two separate sections for the seat and backrest, secured to the frame with hook-and-loop fastenings. The inner cushions combine polyurethane foam, the main cushioning material, with a felt lining that adds resilience. This construction improves seating comfort and helps the cushions retain their shape over years of use. Separate components simplify maintenance and allow individual parts to be replaced.

The generous seat, armrests and angled backrest invite reading and quiet rest. Monteur is suited to residential interiors, public spaces and waiting areas. TUTTU Monteur has received the European Product Design Award 2023, the LOOP Design Awards 2023 and a Silver Award at IDA 2022.
