The Maraba bar stool embodies an idea of light-hearted, carefree living, inspired by the atmosphere of family-run bars in small Italian towns. Its name is a neologism derived from the Italian phrase la mano che raggiunge la barra – “the hand reaching towards the bar.” This image is reflected in the stool’s footrest: a bent steel tube traces the curve of an arm, bringing a subtle sense of playfulness and movement to its silhouette. Maraba evokes the easy rhythm of an Italian aperitivo, turning an everyday gesture into a story of conviviality and unhurried moments.
Structurally, Maraba is composed of steel tubing in two different diameters and a sheet-steel base, creating a durable and stable construction. The straightforward use of these materials gives the stool a distinctly industrial character, while the curved geometry softens its technical language. Balancing simplicity, functionality and an expressive detail, Maraba is designed for both hospitality settings and contemporary residential interiors.
