Round glass coffee table Gotto
Exploring water, we discover it not as an element, but as a primal matter – a living archive of memory that holds the breath of time, the traces of light, and the rhythm of movement. It teaches us to take shape, to dissolve boundaries, and to conceal depth. Glass, born from fire and sand, becomes the natural continuation of this essence. It captures the fluidity, flexibility, and mutability of water, transforming into a space of transition where memory responds through color and energy takes form. From this contemplation arises the Gotto collection. The name, derived from the Venetian dialect, refers to a large glass vessel and an ancient unit of liquid measure.
The tabletop surface evokes the state of water’s surface tension – like a drop suspended in perfect balance. Thus, glass becomes a metaphor for form itself, where invisible effort turns into visible harmony. Each tabletop is finished by hand: the enameling process draws on traditional Venetian techniques, giving every piece its own unique tone, texture, and vibrant play of light that creates an emotional pattern across the surface.
The base consists of two elements – a fluid steel bowl and a cylindrical column that gathers the composition into a single vertical gesture. The gaze lingers on the line of contact with the glass, where a contained space emerges – an equilibrium of energy and stillness. Gotto speaks of contemplation, accumulation, and a meditative listening to one’s inner rhythm.
