Oreli console – a dialogue between matter and void
Oreli is a console whose form emerges from the interplay between matter and void. Its name is a neologism combining the Italian words orlo (edge) and orizzonte (horizon) – a line that both defines a boundary and establishes continuity between matter and space. At the heart of the design is a visual balance between the warm depth of solid walnut and the luminous translucency of natural onyx. Vertical stone elements lend the piece an architectural presence, while horizontal wooden planes establish a rhythm between solid and open space.
Seemingly suspended within the composition, the drawers are seamlessly integrated into the central volume, preserving the clarity of the form and the perceptual continuity of the materials. The dialogue between craftsmanship and contemporary design language positions Oreli as both a functional object and a sculptural presence – a piece in which material becomes a bearer of meaning and memory.
